The academic calendar has once again turned, and the familiar rhythm of a new semester is calling. As a graduate student, the start of the semester feels a bit different—it's less about first-day jitters and more about a determined return to the intellectual pursuits that drive us. It's a time for deep dives into research, reconnecting with colleagues on a scholarly level, and setting ambitious goals for the work ahead. This season brings a certain focus and seriousness, but it's also a chance to reignite the passion for our chosen fields and the exciting challenges they present.
Yet, amidst the rigorous demands of graduate-level study, there’s still a need for stories that exist purely for the sake of enjoyment. This blog remains a sanctuary for just that. While my own reading lists are filled with academic texts, this space is dedicated to dissecting and celebrating everything else. Here, you can expect in-depth reviews of Young Adult books, thoughtful insight on those titles, that go beyond the syllabus, and discussions that remind us of the simple joy of getting lost in a good book. So, as we buckle down for another semester of advanced study, let's also remember to make room for the stories that feed our souls.
